Storm and chestnuts: A vintage car festival delights Hofstätten

The Hofstätten an der Raab community center was the venue for a lively festival on October 5, 2024, organized by the local Wetzawinkel classic car group. In stormy weather and steaming chestnuts, numerous car enthusiasts met to present their treasures and spend pleasant hours.

The chairman of the classic car group, Norbert Dunkl, was particularly pleased to welcome various club directors from the area. The event not only offered a reunion for members, but also a heartfelt message of thanks to the community for their ongoing support. The tasty chestnuts, prepared by Hermann Kochauf, were a highlight of the afternoon.

A record number of visitors

The classic car group, which was founded on February 28, 1993 and has now existed for over 31 years, has developed into a permanent fixture in the region. The club currently has around 64 members, which brings together a balanced mix of younger and older vehicle enthusiasts. In total, the members own around 90 vintage cars that could be admired at the festival.

Classic car lovers from neighboring clubs in places like Kogelhof and Markt Hartmannsdorf came to enjoy the event under the cool, rainy autumn sky. In addition, there was an exciting guessing game with ten attractive prizes and gift baskets provided by sponsors such as families and local companies. The winner of the guessing game, Alois Moik from Wetzawinkel, was delighted to receive a gift basket sponsored by Christian Tremmel and Christian Dunkl.

The culmination of the day was a disco for the youth in the next room. This event attracted a record number of visitors and impressively demonstrated that the interest in classic cars and community celebrations remains unbroken. The Wetzawinkel vintage car group will continue to focus on tradition and community in the future.
