A serious traffic accident occurred on Monday morning, November 25, 2024, on the B70 Voitsberg bypass. Shortly after 6 a.m. there was a collision between two vehicles, which led to the fire department and rescue workers being called out immediately.

In the accident, one person was trapped in the vehicle and had to be rescued from their predicament. Meanwhile, the rescue workers took decisive action. “The fire brigade supported the rescue workers in providing first aid to the trapped person, who was then rescued from the vehicle and taken to an emergency vehicle for medical care,” explained the Voitsberg area fire brigade association.

Comprehensive rescue measures

The fire brigades from Krems and Voitsberg were on duty with a total of six vehicles and 26 members. They worked hand in hand with the Red Cross, the police and the road authority to secure the accident site and take fire protection measures. After the accident, the road was thoroughly cleaned to restore traffic safety.

The exact cause of the accident is currently being determined. After about two hours, the fire brigade was able to restore operational readiness after the two accident vehicles were removed by the police and parked safely.
