Köflacher Krampus run 2023: Security through large ambulance and drones
Last weekend the greatest cramp of Styria took place in Köflach, a spectacle that attracted 13,000 visitors. Organized by the Köflacher Gruam Tifl under the direction of Matthias Pichler, the event was a complete success, which required comprehensive medical protection. Therefore, a large outpatient clinic of the Red Cross Voitsberg-Köflach was mobilized, including around 50 paramedics and an emergency doctor who were on site with 15 vehicles.
The event went without serious incidents, which was partly due to the careful planning and organization of medical services. Matthias Pichler estimated that the number of participants was between 13,000 and 15,000, which is quite remarkable for such a large event.
technology and security in focus
In order to ensure security and quick support, two drones were even used, which caused live broadcasts from the air. This technology enables the situation to be better monitored and react quickly in an emergency. District rescue commander Roman Wonisch said that such a large outpatient clinic needs a well thought-out operational and personnel planning. In addition to the safety of event visitors, the constant care of the local population remains important.
As before, the large outpatient clinic took place in the town hall passage. The head of operations Marcel Hausegger coordinated the rescue workers in cooperation with the fire brigade, police and the organizer. "All employees contributed a significant part to the success of the event, I am very grateful for that," said Hausegger. Despite the large crowd, coarser security incidents could be avoided.
support from volunteers
The Red Cross was not only active in the security organization, but also represented with its own punch stand. This not only ensures the physical well -being of the guests, but also strengthens the community feeling on site. Under the direction of Florian Angerer, Lena Schmidt and Hanna Neukam, the volunteers ensured that visitors were well looked after during the Krampus run.
The organization of such events requires great cooperation between different emergency services and is a big step to promote security and well -being in the community. The volunteers of the Red Cross, who often work in the background, also play a special mention. Due to the closely coordinated cooperation, the event was consistently perceived, and the team is looking forward to a repetition next year.
