Electric shocks on Kreischberg: technicians and cable car employees injured
In the middle of the picturesque landscape of the Kreischberg in Styria, a tragic incident occurred in which a technician and a cable car employee were seriously injured. While working on the snowmaking system, they were suddenly struck by electric shocks.
The 36-year-old power engineer suffered severe burns and had to be taken to the Graz State Hospital by rescue helicopter. His 27-year-old colleague was taken to Stolzalpe Hospital by the Red Cross to receive medical care.
The incident occurred in the afternoon when the technician was working on the snowmaking system's transformer station. It appears the facility was still connected to the power grid, which led to the tragic accident. The technician unfortunately got caught in the circuit while his colleague tried to come to his aid and also suffered an electric shock.
Thanks to the quick intervention of the emergency services, both men were treated and taken to hospitals. It remains to be hoped that they can recover quickly from their injuries and recover from this shock.
