Weißkirchen relies on efficiency: local council decides to invest!
At the municipal council meeting of the market town of Weißkirchen on December 12th, the budget 2025 was the focus of the discussions. Under the direction of Mayor Ewald Peer, a balanced estimate of around 12.3 million euros was presented. At a time when many communities suffer from financial difficulties, Weißkirchen stands out as a positive example. The expenditure of the municipality is classified as moderate, and the efficient staffing with 19 employees testifies to responsible management, as on meinzirk.at is reported.
An important highlight of the budget is the investment budget of 1.7 million euros, which includes projects such as road construction, the purchase of new fire engines and cultural grants. Particularly noteworthy is the largest construction project in recent decades, the flood protection pool 3 on the Granitzenbach, for which the groundbreaking will take place on January 7, 2025. All resolutions for dedication and management of the houses were unanimously caught.

At the same time, the new parent-child center together ("Mio") plays an increasingly central role in the region. Since its opening in 2023, the million has developed into a contact point for exchange and adult education. It offers numerous courses and workshops that respond to the needs of the community. In addition, the network has increased with other clubs to increase the attractiveness of the Murau region for families. As mio-murau.at , the Mio becomes a platform for new ideas and offers that should enrich family life in the region.
