Advent splendor on the radio: music wish day for light into the darkness
In Styria, the Advent season begins with a series of events, all of which have the motto “Light into the Dark”. As usual, ORF Steiermark is organizing numerous campaigns to collect donations. A special highlight is the Radio Steiermark music wish dayNovember 28th, where numerous music wishes can be fulfilled.
Music Wish Day offers the opportunity to order personal music wishes for a donation of at least ten euros via the hotline 0800 664 70 18 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can do this from now onNovember 27thuntilNovember 28thRequests can be submitted online. This year the donations will benefit the Schnur family from Graz and 15-year-old Marcel.
Mulled wine and more for a good cause
Another way to donate is the “Aufsteirern Christmas Market 2024”, which takes place onNovember 30thopened on the Schloßberg in Graz. Here, visitors can enjoy mulled wine on Advent Saturdays from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. while the presenters from ORF Steiermark serve the guests.
To properly celebrate the Advent season, musical entertainment is also offered. OnNovember 30thFrom 6:00 p.m. the band “Brofaction” will provide the atmosphere, while onDecember 1stRadio Steiermark Wurlitzer can be heard in Leoben from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Both events are public and will be broadcast live on steiermark.ORF.at.
In addition, in the run-up to Christmas there is also an auction of the clothing of the “Steiermark Today” presentersDecember 10th, the proceeds of which will also be used for “Light in the Dark”. An Advent calendar with surprises was also announced on social media for the younger visitors.
Another festive event will take place onDecember 23rdtakes place when the Peace Light arrives at the Styrian State Studio. OnDecember 24thIt can then be picked up by the public while the traditional “Light in the Dark” programs are broadcast on television, in which prominent guests such as Paralympic athlete Thomas Frühwirth will take part.
