New musical center in Leibnitz: The Franz Koringer Music School
The Franz-Koringer music school in Leibnitz has made a striking progress. After an intensive construction phase of 14 months, the move into the newly built building in Wagnastraße 9 will take place from September 9, 2024. This step was closely accompanied by the municipality of Leibnitz under the direction of Mayor Michael Schumacher and headmaster Josef Ferk. The large opening is planned for October 25, 2024 and is celebrated with a spectacular performance by Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana".
As part of an exclusive demonstration for the press, the citizens were able to explore the new premises. "We would like to give an overview of what has happened here and what the all -day school and the music school have to offer!" Explained Walter Walch from the municipality. At this event there have already been numerous insights into the new facilities and their diverse uses.
modern design and sustainable solutions
Mayor Schumacher praised the newly designed barrier -free forecourt, which is provided with many green areas and has thus become a small park. "I am proud of this inviting entrance," he said. In addition, a water -permeable soil was laid to have rainwater seeped away. The entire forecourt and the new foyer were renewed as part of total costs of around 800,000 euros.
The city also takes care of security: covered escape stairs were built with costs of 500,000 euros, while the renovation of the canal lines and the infiltration systems of the roof drainage include further measures.
A focus of the new music school is on all -day care. In a friendly atmosphere, up to 40 children can enjoy a warm meal in the all -day school, for which 900,000 euros were invested. These principles show a clear focus on a sustainable and child -friendly educational environment.
top technical performance
The modern classrooms were presented during a tour of the music school. Each of the 14 rooms was specially designed, so that the students can learn undisturbed. "The innovative classrooms have no right angles to ensure optimal acoustics," said Gerwin Kortschak from Planconsort. In addition, the premises are heated and ventilated via a modern ventilation system.
The trapezoidal concert hall offers space for 250 to 300 listeners and is equipped with a first-class sound and lighting system. This ensures that the viewers can enjoy both an excellent hearing and quality of vision, which will support the new performance formats.
The investment volume in the new music school is a total of 5.8 million euros. Mayor Schumacher emphasizes that the city community will receive a need for 3.5 million euros from Styria over the next two years. This is far more than what is usually distributed over ten years.
The old music school in Jännerstrasse served over 68 years and the city administration expected that the new facility on Wagnastraße will bring the same benefit for the community, including support for three brass music bands and eight choirs in Leibnitz.
The program items of the opening ceremony on October 25, 2024 are diverse, starting with general rehearsals, school performances and the great performance of "Carmina Burana", in which numerous regional music groups will take part. The scenic cantata of Orffs based on texts from the 11th and 12th centuries will take place especially in the Reinhold-Heidinger sports hall and promises to be an impressive performance.
