Lions Club Leibnitz opens festive Advent cubes for a good cause
On Friday, November 29th, the Christmas time for the city of Leibnitz begins with the opening of the traditional Advent dice at the main square. At 5:30 p.m., visitors can expect a colorful opening program, the proceeds of which benefit a non -profit purpose. The Advent cubes, an unmistakable landmark of the region, ensures a festive atmosphere with its radiant light during the run -up to Christmas and shortens the waiting for Christmas by 24 numbered windows, behind which small surprises are hidden.
This festive initiative is actively supported by local companies that sponsor each of the Advent door. In addition, pupils of middle school I enrich the project with their Christmas works of art, which they design in art lessons. These creative contributions give the Advent cubes a special, personal touch that increases the anticipation for the holidays.
special musical support
At the opening of the cube, there will be musical performances again this year. The school band of middle school I, led by Peter Nemeth, will create the festive atmosphere. In addition, the “Keppelt bags” from Hengsberg and the harmonica player Thomas Bernhard are expected, who are enriched with the program. The combination of music and light will certainly help this evening become an unforgettable event for the community.
President Karl Altenburger thanks the supporters for their generous donations. The proceeds of the Advent dice will go to the social department of the Leibnitz district administration in the amount of 5,000 euros this year. The money collected is used to support people in need in the region quickly and unbureaucratically.
new offers in winter magic
In addition, the Lions Club Leibnitz will be present for the first time this year with its own stand at the winter magic at the Grottenhof. On all four Advent weekends, you can enjoy a good cause. Visitors find a diverse offer, including mulled wine, children's punch, and the locally sponsored apple juices from the Silberberg technical school. A special treat is the fine gingerbread from the Pirker company from Mariazell, which are also offered.
The Lions Club responsible would thank everyone who makes these festive initiatives possible and hope for numerous visitors who attend these events and thus make an important contribution to supporting the needy in the region.
