Wirt: thanks! - The inn celebrates the new campaign in the district

In the Leader region Thermenland-changing country, the life and work of the landlords and hosts are recognized by a new campaign. This initiative should not only illustrate the importance of gastronomy, but also address the challenges with which the operators are confronted. The campaign is entitled "Wirt: In thanks!" and is supported by various institutions, including the federal government, country and the European Union.

Gastronomy in Styria has experienced a significant decline in recent years. In the past 13 years, the number of active restaurants in the region has dropped by 11.3 percent. The Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district is particularly affected, where the number of companies decreased by 22.5 percent from 218 to 169. This development is particularly evident in the inns, the number of which has fallen from 1,650 to only 1,009, which corresponds to a loss of almost 39 percent.

In order to counter the decline, the campaign aims to raise awareness of local tavern culture. A total of 13 restaurants from all over the district take part, from Friedberg to Bad Loipersdorf. These companies stand not only for culinary diversity, but also for the social function that they take in the community.

The campaign includes a poster campaign and an informative website on which the importance of hospitality and its influence on society and the economy are described. The slogan "Wirt: thanks" should put the valuable work of the host and their commitment to the fore.

In a recently taken “meeting day of the host” in Buch-St. The campaign was presented.
