Heavy defects in vehicle control: Police draw 21 cars out of circulation!
With an extensive use of testing in the Mödling district, the police checked a total of 21 vehicles between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. 36 serious technical deficiencies were found, eight of which were an acute risk. Six vehicles and trailers immediately had to hand in their license plates and the drivers were not allowed to continue until the defects found were remedied. In addition, 91 violations of steering and rest time regulations and two offenses were punished in accordance with the Dangerous Promotion Act. Those responsible had to count on high security benefits and were reported to the Mödling district administration, as reported.
Another alarming incident occurred on February 4, when the police officers from the Schwechat inspection carried out a check on the S1 Wiener outdoor ring expressway together with technical experts. Here they stopped a coach with 13 passengers who was traveling towards Graz. During the examination it was found that a tire on the third axis was considerably damaged. In addition, the tires on this axis showed a serious below the prescribed minimum profile depth. In this case, too, the driver was prohibited from continuing until the defects were remedied, and the license plates were temporarily removed. Both, the vehicle driver and the registration owner, were reported, as informed.
These controls impressively show the rigorous approach of the police to ensure security on the streets and to pull dangerous vehicles out of circulation immediately.
