Motorcyclist falls after braking: the driver remains intact

On Wednesday evening, December 4, 2024, an accident occurred in Graz-Wetzelsdorf, in which a 55-year-old motorcyclist was injured. Around 6:15 p.m., a 71-year-old driver wanted to drive to Straßganger Strasse when leaving a parking lot of a grocery store. Despite her statement that she made sure that no vehicle is coming, she drove directly in front of the approaching motorcyclist.

This, which moved north at the same time, reacted immediately and initiated a braking to avoid a collision. He fell and slid against the car with his motorcycle. The motorcyclist was injured indefinitely and then had to be brought to the UKH Graz. The motor driver remained unharmed, as my district reported.

Details of the incident

The incident was also taken up by 5min.at where further information was provided with the perspective of those involved. The motorcyclist stated that he did not see the driver, which made the unhappy driver braking. The police were consulted to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident. This situation illustrates the dangers in road traffic, especially if drivers do not adequately pay attention to the traffic when driving out of parking spaces. The present incident could also address the need to improve traffic safety in such areas.
