Garish: A journey of change and musical freedom!
The Austrian indie pop band Garish has interfered again in the music world and presents its latest album "In the end everything will be a garden". The singer Thomas Jarmer and his bandmates Julian Schneeberger, Kurt Grath and Markus Perner are optimistic and strong in their creative creative process, as in an interview with the report
Since her last studio album "Come Black Cat" in 2017, Garish was anything but idle. They produced a live album and celebrated their 25th anniversary with compilation. Despite the challenges that Corona pandemic brought with it-as interruptions during studio recordings-the musicians could find new ways to be creative. Jarmer speaks about the return to the roots: "We sat down in a room and played again. Then we opened the button." An unprecedented process that finally led to the new songs, including melancholic and rhythmically fine pieces such as "Jackpot" and "We can do that better".
a look back and forward
Garish, founded in Mattersburg, Burgenland in 1997, made a name for itself through its own metaphoric texts and its unique sound. During their career, they were nominated several times for the Amadeus Austrian Music Award and were able to perform with renowned artists at large music festivals. Their career is characterized by constant further development, both musically and in dealing with social issues. Jarmer expresses it aptly: "The plate is supported by a fundamental optimism, but also from the insight that it is not easy to deal with challenges." The band sees itself not only as a musician, but also as an ambassador of emotions and opinions in a turbulent world, which is reflected in one of their new songs, "The Faust".
In the coming months, Garish will go on tour to present their new work, including concerts in cities such as Linz, Graz and Vienna. The tour marks another step in its career and underlines the importance of music as a connecting force. Jarmer emphasizes that the exchange with the audience is of central importance for them: "Music can be seen as an offer to feel understood." The band's commitment shows that they are ready to tackle the challenges of the music scene while they continue to adhere to their artistic identity.
