On Tuesday evening there was a dramatic traffic accident on South Styrian Grenzstraße (B69), in which a car opened on fire. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. when a 47-year-old from the Germany district of Deutschlandsberg was traveling towards Eibiswald. It is unclear why the driver came off the street in a long -drawn left curve.
The driver lost control of his vehicle and collided with a tree. Shortly after the accident, a 25-year-old witness from the Graz area district, who happened to go by, noticed a strong smoke that rose out of the damaged car. He also saw jumps in sparks under the vehicle, which indicated a possible inflammation.

The 25-year-old's quick reaction swing saved the driver from worse. He hurried to the burning car and pulled out the driver in time. Only a short time later the vehicle was on fire. The fire brigades St. Oswald and Soboth were in use to extinguish the fire and were able to prevent worse things. A total of 14 emergency services were on site.
The injured driver was immediately brought to medical care to LKH Deutschlandsberg. Before he exit, an alcohol test was carried out, which showed a strong alcoholization of the driver, which increases the seriousness of the situation.
