Med-Mobil 1450: Round-the-clock healthcare for the Styrian

The expansion of health care in Styria picks up speed. In a pioneering step, the already established health telephone 1450 is expanded to include the new "Med-Mobil 1450" offer. This initiative aims to provide improved care during the night hours in the Bruck and Kindberg region.

This pilot project has been running since the beginning of October 2023, which is also being implemented in other Styrian large -scale regions. It enables the population to receive focused health advice around the clock and to be managed quickly to the next doctor on duty.

Med-Mobil 1450: Extended possibilities in health care

The new offer "Med-Mobil 1450" is not just a simple telephone service, but a comprehensive "personal guide" through the health system. Suppose someone needs medical help at night, employees of the health telephone can activate the relevant services and send a standby doctor directly to the call home. The visiting service is currently active until 11 p.m., while the supply takes place via emergency services at night.

State Health Councilor Karlheinz Kornhäusl emphasizes the importance of uniform health care for all citizens. With this system, patients in acute situations are intended to get the necessary medical treatment faster. In the pilot regions of Bruck and Kindberg, the offer includes a number of neighboring communities such as Breitenau, Niklasdorf and Mürzzuschlag.

In addition, the awareness of the health telephone in 1450 is also increased during this project to ensure that the population is extensively informed about the existing options. SPÖ club chairman Hannes Schwarz also emphasizes that this represents a decisive development for medical emergency service in the region, which underlines the importance of a citizen-friendly health offer.

In the second quarter of 2024, the health telephone 1450 already recorded around 20,000 incoming calls, with an average lye of only 14 seconds. This shows the efficiency of the system that leads patients directly where they receive the best possible care.

The planned evaluation of the Med-Mobil 1450 project will show whether it does justice to the needs of the population and help to continue to adapt and optimize the medical offers in the region.
