Wien, Österreich - On May 6, 2025, the program "Welcome Austria" with Stermann and Grissemann will be broadcast on ORF 1 at 10 p.m. The transfer to ORF ON begins from 8 p.m. The spectators can look forward to Rudolf Buchbinder, the masterful pianist and honorary member of the Vienna Philharmonic, and the actress Julia Jentsch.
Rudolf Buchbinder will speak of his impressive concerts in Tokyo, New York and Vienna on the show. The pianist looks back on over 60 years of career, in which his piano interpretations of Ludwig van Beethoven's works are considered a benchmark. He has performed the 32 piano sonatas of Beethoven over 60 times worldwide and is known for his ability to combine tradition with innovation. Buchbinder recently opened the 2024/25 season in the Vienna Musikverein with a Schubert concert, which once again underlines its outstanding position in the music world, as Grafenegg.
Julia Jentsch and her latest film
Julia Jentsch, known from films such as "The fat years are over" and "Sophie Scholl - the last few days", will also be a guest. She talks about her role in the new film "What Marielle knows", in which she plays the mother of a telepathy-aged 14-year-old. Jentsch, whose acting talent is strongly recognized, brings a breath of fresh air to the entertainment program.

Buchbinder's special projects
A special highlight in Buchbinder's career is the publication of his complete admission of the 32 piano sonatas and the five piano concerts on German gramophone, which was published on the occasion of its 75th birthday in December 2021. In addition, Buchbinder initiated the new Diabelli variations, a project in which eleven contemporary composers wrote personal variations on the rolling topic of Diabelli. This variation was premiered worldwide and is part of his tour programs that have already traveled to City such as Leipzig, Vienna and Paris.
Buchbinder is a passionate advocate of source research and has an extensive collection of grades. He published several books, including an autobiography and works on Beethoven, which reflect his deep connection to music and its history.
