St. Pölten, Österreich - SKN St. Pölten presented the first new addition for the coming season today: Christopher Knett. The 34-year-old goalkeeper changes free of charge from the Saudi Arabian club Al-Arabi SC to Austria. He is considered an experienced keeper who is supposed to strengthen the club after the departure of Tom Ritzy Hülsmann, who will return to his main club on June 30th. Sports director Christoph Freitag was positive about Knett and emphasized his valuable experience from foreign leagues.
Knett can look back on a versatile career that led him to the first leagues of Greece and Iran. Before his commitment to Al-Arabi SC, the goalkeeper was active at the Greek first division club Panetolikos GFS and previously had a season at Wacker Innsbruck, where he was looking for the challenge abroad after relegation. In January 2025, Knett Al-Arabi SC joined before the switch to SKN St. Pölten was now carried out.
