SKN St. Pölten enthusiastic: Cem Sekerlioglu New head coach!
St. Pölten, Österreich - SKN St. Pölten has signed a new head coach. Cem Sekerlioglu is now working with the second division club. The 46-year-old Viennese brings an extensive experience from the youth area in which he worked from 2005 to 2022 at Austria Vienna. Previously, he was an assistant coach under Manfred Schmid and also served as assistant coach at the Wolfsberger AC and most recently at TSV Hartberg.
With his obligation, Sekerlioglu follows Tugberk Tanrimis, whose contract was not extended. Under Tanrimis, SKN St. Pölten was able to take fourth place last season, which is a solid performance for the club. Sekerlioglu, who owns the pro license, is now faced with a new challenge in his first position as head coach in the professional area.
The way to the head coach
The decision for Sekerlioglu was not only due to his skills, but also in view of other candidates such as Jochen Fallmann and Dominik Thalhammer. Already during his time at Austria Vienna, he established himself as a talented trainer in the youth area and became co-coach of the professionals in 2021. His knowledge and experience are considered valuable to advance SKN St. Pölten in the coming season.
In recent years, the coaching landscape in the Austrian league has changed. The current balance sheets show how important it is to make the right personnel decision. Information about the trainer statistics can be viewed on Transfermarkt.at, where the points per game (PPS) are also evaluated.
The challenge that Sekerlioglu is now expecting is to further develop the team tactically and mentally. It remains to be seen how he can implement the philosophy of the game and whether he will lead the team to new top performances.
The future of SKN St. Pölten will be exciting, and the fans hope that Cem Sekerlioglu was the right choice. His skills as a trainer and his extensive experience could be the key to success for the second division team.
