Sebastian Kurz im Jewel: Exclusive CEO talk about change and future

Wien, Österreich - On June 24, 2025, the second “Leaders of Transformation” talk from Business Gladiators took place in Vienna. The event, which took place in the Rooftop Location "Juwel" on the roof of the news tower, attracted over 100 guests, including leading heads of the domestic economy. The focus of the conversation was transformative experiences in politics, entrepreneurship and investments. Sebastian Kurz, the former Federal Chancellor of Austria and now an entrepreneur and investor, discussed current trends and challenges with Philipp Maderthaner.

The event was organized by Philipp Maderthaner and Alexander Zauner, whereby Zauner acts as a co-founder and managing partner of Business Gladiators. In short, who had great success in the Parliamentary Elections in the past, wanted to discuss with the CEOs and managing directors present: inside about corporate changes and their support.

political developments and the way to the Chancellor

Sebastian Kurz had already caused a sensation with his election as chairman of the ÖVP in 2017 when he was elected with 98.7% of the votes at a party congress. At the time, he became the youngest national leader in the world at the age of 31 and ensured a fundamental change in Austrian politics by representing a radical anti-immigration position and led the People's Party (ÖVP) back to the top of the elections after years of opposition. In the parliamentary elections, the ÖVP achieved 31.4% of the votes and formed a coalition together with the FPÖ, which led to an extreme right-wing, strongly anti-immigrant-colored government.

These successes of the ÖVP came at a time when the Austrian economy experienced strong growth, with an unemployment rate of 5.7%. However, these positive economic indicators were not without challenges. In the coming years, Austria will be confronted with geopolitical conflicts and economic crises, as they can currently be observed in Ukraine and in the Gaza conflict. These topics will also shape the upcoming EU and National Council elections in 2024.

social challenges and election issues

In Austria, migration and integration is currently being discussed lively, especially with regard to the effects of the past refugee crisis. In 2015, Austria started 90,000 migrants after 1.3 million refugees came to Europe. These topics will also play a crucial role in the super election year of 2024. In addition, the Corona pandemic has permanent political effects that the FPÖ exploited in its anti-system rhetoric.

Leading politicians and social groups, including the World Jewish Congress, have expressed worrying statements about anti-Semitism and Hamas sympathies among certain groups of migrants. The success of right -wing populist movements in other countries, such as that of Geert Wilders in the Netherlands, also shows the relevance of these topics for the Austrian electorate.

The entire social, political and economic landscape is thus shaped by these crises, and the upcoming elections could be crucial for the future direction of Austria. The "Leaders of Transformation" talk offers a platform for valuable exchange among the decision-makers of the economy in order to find solutions to today's challenges.
