Ski season 2024/2025: Where winter sports enthusiasts find the best prices
The upcoming ski season in Europe will lead to great price differences in the costs for winter athletes. A new study has illustrated this and shows that the choice of the ski area has a significant impact on the holiday budget. The analysis of the Holidu holiday home portal for the 2024/2025 season has compared the daily prices for ski passes and overnight stays to show where skiers and snowboarders should pay attention to the prices.
A total of European ski areas with at least 20 kilometers of slopes were taken into account in the investigation. This survey not only took into account the high season, but also the usually cheaper off -season. The result is amazing: In the cheapest area, vacationers can theoretically spend six times less than in the most expensive.
France shines in price comparison
France is shown this season as the country with the most inexpensive ski areas. Of the ten cheapest places, seven can be found in France alone. The Spanish or Andorran ski area Sierra de Béjar takes tenth place with average costs of 54 euros per day. In Pelvoux/Vallouise, another French area, costs of around 52.50 euros are incurred, while in Le Collet d’Allevard it is only 52 euros.
The Greek ski area Vasilitsa is around 51.50 euros, followed by artouuses - Laruns with an average of 49.50 euros and crévoux, where the daily costs are 49 euros. In the front ranks of the list there are two French areas, Roubion Les Buisses and Hautacam-Argelès-Gazost, both of which offer interesting options with 48 euros. The silver square goes to the Greek town of Mount Parnassos with a price of 46 euros. But the cheapest ski area is Réallon in France, where the costs are only 44.50 euros per day.
ski areas in Austria and Switzerland
In contrast to this, many ski areas in Austria, Italy and Switzerland are much more expensive. A day ticket in Ischgl costs an average of 198 euros. But the most expensive ski area, Obergurgl-Hochgurgl in Austria, has the highest prizes with 284 euros. Even Zermatt in Switzerland, known for high costs, also requires an impressive fee at 256.50 euros per day. At the Hintertux Glacier, the cost is 245 euros, and Cortina d’Ampezzo in Italy is 234 euros. Fortunately, prices in German ski areas are more moderate, with prices of 85 euros in Balderschwang up to 137 euros on the Zugspitze. An important factor for choosing a ski area should not only be the price, but also the price-performance ratio. Higher prices in popular ski areas can often go hand in hand with a more extensive range of slopes and better services. It is therefore worth checking exactly which amenities are offered and to what extent they justify the price. Ultimately, everyone has to decide for themselves what they attach particular importance to on their winter sports holiday.
