Work assistance in Pinzgau: Supporting ways to professional integration

The support of people with health restrictions when accessing jobs has an important place in Pinzgau. A concrete project, the NEBA work assistant, offers individual help to integrate people with disabilities into the labor market. This initiative is promoted by the Ministry of Social Affairs and has proven itself by supporting several hundred people in the region every year.

Work assistance is aimed at adults and young people who have difficulty finding or holding a job due to illnesses or impairments. Susanne Derigo, the site manager in Zell am See, explains: "We first check whether people belong to our target group." The target group includes both adults and adolescents who have demonstrable restrictions.

Individual support for clients

A central component of the program is targeted measures to support clients. The NEBA work assistant helps, among other things, to find internships, organize application training and offer support in the vocational school and during the apprenticeship. Derigo emphasizes the importance of knowing the individual profile of the clients well: "In this way we can develop ideal plans for starting their professional life and ensure long -term integration." A positive aspect is the close cooperation with domestic companies, which are often willing to permanently adopt clients in employment.

These practices not only promote inclusion, but also strengthen the understanding of companies for the diversity of labor. "The companies in Pinzgau live inclusion exemplary," notes Derigo, which shows how much the local labor market benefits from this commitment.
