On November 2, this year's gala of the German AIDS Foundation took place in the Deutsche Oper Berlin, an event that has now been looking back on an impressive 28-year tradition. The aim of the festive opera night is to achieve a high proceeds through the performance of exquisite musical performances that benefit people with HIV in both Germany and southern Africa. The event is not only a celebration of music, but also an important contribution to supporting the HIV community.
This year numerous internationally celebrated soloists performed, including Golda Schultz, Pene Pati, Martina Russeomanno and Philipp Jekal, who all played together with the orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin under the direction of Daniele Squeo. The evening was an impressive kaleidoscope of opera cutouts and instrumental music, with works by famous composers such as Rossini, Johann Strauss, Gounod, Wagner and Verdi.
