New construction of the ice training hall: Volksgarten becomes a sports oasis!
In the Salzburg Volksgarten, an exciting project is in full swing: The steering committee of the city of Salzburg has decided to build a modern training hall for ice skaters. This happens because the existing covered open space no longer meets the current requirements and the approval for the company will soon be. Mayor Bernhard Auinger (SPÖ) emphasizes: "We have urgent need for action at the ice sports training hall." The new plans provide for a future-oriented infrastructure, which includes warehouse and training cabins for clubs, cloakrooms and a ice ranks, among other things. In addition, an underground car park is being planned for what the Volksgarten should make car -free in the future, as Salzburg.ORF.at reports.
a comprehensive concept for the future
The new building will cost around 30 million euros and is planned on the eastern part of the Volksgartenbad. Florian Kreibich (ÖVP), the vice mayor responsible for urban companies, emphasizes the positive effects for the entire Volksgarten area. "Due to the selected variant, we not only create a great new training hall, but also large open spaces in the Volksgartenbad," says Kreibich. The old training hall can be used further during the construction phase, so that expensive transition solutions are omitted. The new hall will be self-sufficient and offer space for future considerations with regard to the ice arena, as Sn.at reported.
The detailed planning process begins immediately to ensure that all relevant aspects are taken into account. The city of Salzburg thus wants to promote ice sports and at the same time increase the quality of local recreation in the Volksgarten. This gives the athletes optimal training conditions, while the Volksgarten is upgraded as a overall time.
