Festive opening: The most beautiful Christmas tree in Mirabell enlightened

On Tuesday evening, the city of Salzburg experienced a festive moment when the Christmas tree in front of Mirabell Castle was finally illuminated for the first time in full splendor. Mayor Bernhard Auinger and the mayor of the Carinthian municipality of Rennweg am Katschberg, Franz Aschbacher, were the guests of honor of the event.

At the opening, Auinger described the tree as "probably the most beautiful tree of the past 30 years". For him personally, it was of great importance to see this tree shining this year. Prominent guests were also present to celebrate the evening, including the Olympic departure winner Fritz Strobl and numerous community representatives from Rennweg, St. Michael and Salzburg.

Strengthen the connection between regions

In his speech, Aschbacher emphasized that his community was part of the Archdiocese of Salzburg until 1555. This indicates the historical connection between the two regions. "The Katschberg is not a limit. It connects Carinthia with Salzburg - and people," said Aschbacher. His words should not only reaffirm the friendship between the communities, but also express hope that the Christmas tree may warm the hearts of people.

The celebration was musically framed by alphorn players, the traditional music band from the Katschtal and a children's choir of the Campus Mirabell elementary school, which created the right festive atmosphere. This event shows how regional traditions and relationships can be strengthened by festive occasions, and remains in the memory of the citizens as a sign of community and cohesion.

This extremely positive response to the Christmas tree illuminates the culture and cohesion that starts from such celebrations. People can look forward to many more beautiful moments at Mirabell Castle, because such traditions are valuable for social life in the region.
