15 years H.O.G. Salzburg: A festival of the Harley Davidson community
The community of H.O.G. Salzburg Chapter celebrates its 15th anniversary this year and looks proudly back on an intensive time. The anniversary was recognized with a big celebration in the Rockhouse Salzburg, to which members and friends from all over Europe were invited. The festive atmosphere was accompanied by the music and customs of the region, while the connection to the Harley-Davidson culture was consolidated.
This colorful community attracts people from different professions, whether lawyer or cashier. The connecting element is the passion for Harley-Davidson, which brings together the members. "We want to have fun with each other, talk about engines, make joint trips and trips together and do it without compulsory club," said Ernestine Berger, the director of the chapter, who largely controls organizing.
The roots of the chapter
The beginnings of the H.O.G. Salzburg Chapter are located in the inn "Die Hölle", where over 70 bikers came together 15 years ago. Cheri Berger remembers that it took a few years for the association to organize itself. Today the community has 120 members from all over Salzburg, and the average age is around 53 years. "At that time we were 70, now we have grown significantly," says Berger with satisfaction.
Another important part of the community is the local motorcycle dealer Hot Stuff Harley-Davidson Salzburg, which is considered an indispensable partner. The members feel even more connected by this reference.
The big festival in the rockhouse
The anniversary celebration was a complete success, with 90 members from Salzburg and many guests from European chapters. Berger confirmed that the connection between the chapters of the entire region is strong: "Respect among chapters around the world is particularly great." Members from Switzerland, Italy and Germany came to celebrate together with the Salzburgers.
The festival was accompanied musically by the traditional costume music band Anif and the Isler Prangers. The various performances created a cheerful atmosphere and emphasized the joint character of the event.
Ernestine Berger, who enjoys Harley-Davison culture, is an example of how this passion can survive generations. "My first own machine was a 400 Honda, and even if I paused for a while, this lifestyle never let go of me. I knew that I would like to rise again on a Harley Davidson," she explains.
In the coming year, exciting trips are already planned, including a large Harley event in Medulin, Croatia, and another trip to Andalusia. The chapter maintain international contacts and exchange regularly to further strengthen their friendship.
The constantly developing community is a center of life for all members who look forward to experiencing new adventures together. "The exchange among themselves is great. The chapter show you their country and their sights - it is exchanged.
