The upcoming relaunch of Café Salitri in Hallein brings a breath of fresh air to the old town. The new operators, Christina and Werner Brabec, are already well-known faces in the catering industry and would like to continue the old tradition of the café with their new project. After a year of closure, the café will reopen its doors on October 8th.
Christina Brabec has worked in various restaurants for around ten years in the past, including Café Salitri itself, when it was under the management of Wolfgang Brudl. Their experience in the industry and their proximity to the heart of Hallein's gastronomy are a great advantage for the new concept. Together with her husband Werner, the previous operator of the brewery in Kaltenhausen, they are now bringing their know-how to Café Salitri.
New offer and nostalgic sounds
The café will be open to guests from Tuesday to Sunday and offers a variety of café specialties, snacks and sweet treats from the Pucher “Süsserei” during its early opening hours. Christina is making a point of expanding the breakfast offerings and is also planning a weekend brunch that will be served by advance order. The Salitri brunch promises to be a large plate meal with everything that makes your heart happy on a relaxed Sunday.
The selection of drinks will also not be neglected. In addition to the popular Afro Café, there is a selection of wines and beers from Kaltenhausen on the menu. Christina is pleased about the positive response from the people of Hallein: “People are really happy that the Salitri is opening again, many can hardly wait,” she said.
The reopening of Café Salitri not only brings back a popular social gathering place, but also provides an opportunity for residents to gather together and revive local culture. The enthusiasm that this return triggers is already evident in the numerous positive feedback from former regular guests.
