Rescue dramatic on Lake Ossiacher: 14-year-olds disappear under water!
Ossiacher See, Österreich - On June 21, 2025, a dramatic incident occurred at Lake Ossiacher in Austria when a 14-year-old girl from Vienna got into difficulties while swimming. The girl swum from a bathing meadow to a swimming trampoline about 20 meters away, on which her friend was. During the diving, the girlfriend suddenly noticed that the girl no longer showed up. In panic it made alarm.
The water rescue Sattendorf reached the scene of the accident shortly after the emergency call. The rescuers broke the girl from a depth of around eight meters. The team received support from the emergency team of the RK1, the Red Cross Villach and the emergency service of the Villach fire brigade. Fortunately, the girl could be saved, and according to the first reports she is out of danger. This incident underlines the importance of water rescue and safety precautions when swimming.
