insight into the Pride Month events
The history of Pride Month goes back to Christopher Street Day (CSD), which is reminiscent of the uprising of homosexuals and queer minorities in 1969. Numerous events in Vienna are planned this year. These include the "Vienna Pride Beach Day" on the Danube Island and the "Que (e) r through the literature" in the literary museum. A highlight will be the "Miss*ter Vienna Pride election" in the Volkstheater, in which the most creative talent of the scene is celebrated.
In view of the importance of diversity and acceptance in society, the organizers of the rainbow parade rely on a strong sign. The Hosi Vienna, which is responsible for the event, launched this tradition in 1996. Even today, the parade remains a platform for visibility and empowerment of the LGBTQI+ community.
With the live broadcast of the parade via Joyn and the TV station Puls 24, the spectacle will not only be seen locally, but also in Germany and Switzerland. In addition to the parade, Joyn provides further content on diversity and LGBTQ+, including popular films such as "Bohemian Rhapsody". The Pride Month is therefore not only a time of celebration, but also of commitment to the rights and acceptance of the LGBTQI+ community in society.
For everyone who cannot personally participate in the parade, snapshots and reporting in real time via Joyn and Puls 24 will bring the celebrations to the living room. Vienna once again shows that it is a city that appreciates and celebrates diversity.
