Razor on the A1: 207 km/h with an unsecured daughter in the car!
Wiener Neustadt, Österreich - On July 14, 2025, an incident caused excitement on the West Autobahn (A1) in Lower Austria when a 23-year-old Slovak citizen was flashed with a terrifying 207 km/h. His three -year -old daughter, who was unsecured, was also in the vehicle. This serious grievance led to the provisional acceptance of the driver's license. In addition, an advertisement will be filed to the district administration in order to take the necessary legal steps.
That day another incredible traffic offense occurred on the southern Autobahn (A2) in Wiener Neustadt. Here a 28-year-old was stopped in a construction site area at 154 km/h, although only 80 km/h were allowed. It also turned out that the driver did not have a valid driver's authorization, which also tightened the situation. An advertisement is also filed against him from the responsible administrative authority.
strict measures against frenzy
These incidents fall into a context that is characterized by increased measures against extreme frenzy. The Federal Government presented the steps decided on Wednesday in the Council of Ministers, which are due to take effect from March 2024. In the case of ruthless speed violations, in the future there will be the possibility to lose and auction vehicles. Transport Minister Leonore Gewessler (Greens) had already emphasized the need for such measures in December 2022.
An important innovation concerns immediate license acceptance with massive speed violations that has been in force since October 2023. This regulation was introduced as part of the changes to the Road Traffic Regulations, the Führerschein Act and the Motor Transport Act. Vehicles can be confiscated in the event of speed over 60 km/h in urban or 70 km/h outside the local area. In the event of extreme speed violations, even a decay procedure can be initiated, even the first time.
consequences and punishments
The tightening in the law aims to consistently counter repeat offenders. The traffic accident report from 2023 has already shown 142 accidental deaths in Austria, which underlines the urgency of these measures. In addition, the punitive measures that threaten to exceed speed is informed.
≤ 30 km/h | € 150 to € 5,000 | € 150 to € 5,000 |
> 30 km/h | € 300 to € 5,000; 1 month driver's license withdrawal | € 300 to € 5,000; 1 to 6 months of license withdrawal |
> 40 km/h | € 500 to € 7,500; at least 3 months driver's license withdrawal | not correct |
> 60 km/h | € 500 to € 7,500; at least 6 months license withdrawal, retraining | not correct |
In addition, it is pointed out that repeated violations can lead to medical and traffic psychological examinations within four years. The dangers from excessive speed are enormous because they not only endanger the safety in road traffic, but also have an increased risk of accidents. Experts therefore strongly recommend compliance with the speed restrictions in order to avoid accidents and the corresponding legal consequences.
Developments for frenzy in road traffic are still being observed closely. The recent events show that the authorities are determined to ensure the safety of all road users.
Especially in view of the pressing topics such as the climate crisis and the safe energy supply, climate -protectors also demand efficient and sustainable measures.
On July 14, 2025, it became clear once again how serious and risky ride.
