Petitions in Vienna: City administration is working on traffic solutions!
In the Vienna City Hall, a meeting of the municipal council committee for petitions took place today, where a total of 29 petitions were on the agenda. The members of the committee decided to pronounce the recommendations for various improvement measures in the city. This continues to work on an attractive bike connection in Mauerbachstrasse and on the general wheel situation on the belt. Existing measures to improve the cycle path have thus been concluded positively, such as ots.at reported .
A major recommendation concerns the future planned redesign of the Mozartplatz to increase the quality of stay. In addition, the possibility of a car -free school forecourt was considered. The committee also urged further evaluations of the bike situation in Seeböckgasse and Hasnerstrasse to sustainably improve the security and attractiveness of the bike paths. The traffic calming around the Hanovermarkt is also being followed by how urban planning is aimed at discussing this in coordination with other relevant actors, such as wien.gv.at reported .
New treatment of petitions
In addition, seven new petitions for treatment were presented, including suggestions for improving security on school routes and to reduce traffic in overcrowded areas. The committee plans to obtain statements from relevant city councils and the affected district heads and invite the supporters of the petitions to the meetings in order to discuss their concerns directly. At the same time, four petitions that did not meet the prerequisites of the Vienna Petitions Act were not accepted for treatment. The committee has existed since 2013 and enables all Viennese aged 16 and over to have their concerns in the context of municipal participation.
