Austria's football jewel Kanuric changes from Ingolstadt to Portugal!
Ingolstadt, Deutschland - Benjamin Kanuric, a talented Austrian football player, leaves FC Ingolstadt and changes to Leixões SC, a club of the Portuguese second division. The 22-year-old, who only came to Ingolstadt from Arminia Bielefeld in 2023, drew attention to himself last season with eight goals in 36 league games. It is a significant step in his career, which is supposed to open up new possibilities.
Ingolstadt sports director Ivo Grlic expressed a positive statement about this change and emphasized the central role of Kanuric in the team. He particularly praised the strengths of the midfielder, namely his skills in standard situations as well as his game intelligence and mental strength. Despite the difficulties of separating from Kanuric, the club sees the change as a great opportunity for him.
career and skills
Benjamin Kanuric began his career at various clubs in Austria, including Linzer Ask and Red Bull Salzburg, before moving to SV Deutz 05 in 2018. He then played in the Rapid Academy in Vienna and debuted in the 2021/22 season for Rapid Vienna's first team. With 24 missions, including five goals and seven templates in the 2019/20 season, he was able to support Rapid Vienna's reserve team in promoting the second highest division.
Before moving to FC Ingolstadt in July 2022, Kanuric played for Arminia Bielefeld, where he stood on the pitch twelve times and scored a goal. It is particularly important to emphasize its versatility, since it is two -footed and can act in various positions in midfield. These properties make him a valuable player for his new colleagues in Portugal.
transfers and developments in the league
The change from Kanuric is part of a larger trend in Austrian football, because a total of 101 players were recently registered in the transfer window. Of these, 46 new additions come from the twelve first division teams. Around a quarter of these transfers took place within Austria, which indicates an active change period. With the departure of Mika Biereth to Monaco, the SK Sturm generated the highest transfer proceeds, estimated at around 13 million euros.
This transfer once again shows how dynamically football is developing in the region and, like young talents, such as Kanuric, the chance to prove itself internationally. His move to Leixões SC could be the beginning of an exciting new chapter in his career.
