Nicholas evening in Vorderweißenbach: Tradition meets family joy
In Vorderweißenbach, a new club has been founded that quickly made a name for itself as a family and committed. The "Sternstoa Teifin" are passionate about traditions around Nicholas and Krampus. The association currently consists of 13 active members who are preparing together for the upcoming celebrations.
Stefanie Lummerstorfer, a founding member, notes: "In our community, both Nicholas, large and small Krampuses and Engerl and supporting members are welcome at any time." The idea for this club developed from her childhood memory. "The anticipation for the days around the Krampus and Nicholas Day was enormous for me as a child. When I heard the Krampus bells, I was excited and anxious at the same time- I often hid under the table!" On her 30th birthday, she decided to put this childhood dream into practice and to be active as a Krampus herself so that she can "make children's eyes shine".
Krampus masks on your own hand
The youngest members of the association can already actively participate: As part of a holiday program, they were able to make creative Krampus masks. With paper mache, cardboard horns and real fur, the children worked for weeks to make their masks as true to the original as possible. "In the end, impressive results were created," enthuses Lummerstorfer. Through this project, the children were not only able to deepen their manual skills, but also to playfully familiarize themselves with the Krampustradition.
Nikolaus evening on December 6th
On Friday, December 6th, the association together with the Union and the volunteer fire brigade will organize a Santa Claus evening on the church square in Vorderweißenbach, which begins at 3 p.m. In bad weather, the celebrations take place in the new Stockschützenhalle. The teifin will actively revive the customs with their helpers, and the children have the opportunity to present their homemade Krampus masks in front of an audience for the first time.
"We want this event to become an unforgettable experience for the children," explains Lummerstorfer. In addition to festive delicacies, musical entertainment is also provided. In addition, the children can throw in their desired letters to the Christ child in a special station, although they can even receive a reply if they are provided with a stamp.
