Crisis intervention in the Vöcklabruck district: information evening for interested parties
In the Vöcklabruck district, the crisis intervention team of the Red Cross provides quick and sensitive support in acute emergencies. The committed 23 members of this team are specially trained to support people in difficult life situations. Whether it is a sudden tragedy or the loss of a loved one, they are willing to provide help if it is most urgently needed.
The district coordinator Ilse Seufer-Wasserthal emphasizes how important her work is: "The support in a shock scenario is of enormous importance. In the beginning, it is often simple things how to offer a coffee or navigate those affected. The team also has sensitive conversations that help people to sort their thoughts and feelings." This type of help describes it as quiet, but extremely effective.
valuable properties for team members
To become part of the crisis intervention team, certain properties are required. "Empathy, patience and life experience are crucial. A minimum age of 25 years ensures that the members have a certain ripening," explains Seuber-Wasserthal. The willingness to take part in operations is also important. The entire team receives a message for each assignment. Everyone can decide for themselves whether he or she can or would like to help that day. "There are days when you are simply unable to help, and that's perfectly fine," she adds.
Active also means helping that the missions are voluntary and are not evaluated. The AI team is a group of volunteers who stand up for others and always make sure that their own limits are respected.
Info evening for interested helpers
