Fogy exchange of blows: Schweinbach and Gallneukirchen separate 0-0
In the fog of the Mühlviertel, an exciting football game between the local rivals Schweinbach and Gallneukirchen took place last weekend. This derby ended with a goalless draw, which left the approximately 1000 spectators at the Lodabach Stadium. The conditions were anything but simple, because the space was severely impaired by the deep ground and the dense fog.
Both teams went into the game with high expectations. Trainer Michael Mehlem of Gallneukirchen tried to continue the impressive series of his team - the team has been unbeaten for 24 games. He expressed: "In truth, of course, we have already made ourselves more than the point, but in total the result is okay." Despite the disappointment about the chance of passing the table neighbors, the mood in the team remains positive.
strong backing on the defensive
The solid defensive of Gallneukirchen, which only had to accept three goals conceded in the last 13 games, should be particularly emphasized. Goalkeeper Lukas Kürnsteiner was optimistic when he looked back on the game: "The expected difficult game - derby, bad floor. Both teams did not want to make a mistake, which led to a few chances." Despite the draw, Kürnsteiner believes that Schweinbach can prevent relegation in the current season if they continue to play.On the other hand, Schweinbach made at least some ground with this draw, even if they are still on the relegation place. Philip Gollner, the sporting director of the Schweinbacher, was nevertheless satisfied with the performance: "From the first minute we went into the game with a high level of intensity and showed that we are to be expected." Gollner looks optimistically into the future and sees the need to work on the fitness in training and to minimize the injury -related failures.
Sustainable strength and spirit of optimism
Hope at Schweinbach is mainly on the young talents of the team. Experienced players like Bernhard Plank emphasized the importance of the point gain: "The mood was great, we were compact and defended well." The entire team has proven in this difficult phase that it can also act strongly on the defensive.
The coaches of both teams agree that it is important after the winter break to initiate the right steps for the second half of the season. Gallneukirchen will start training again in January and hopes to expand her success. For Schweinbach, on the other hand, it is time to take the momentum from this draw and to provide positive results in the second half of the season.
Although both teams could not score the hoped -for goals, the league remains exciting and the next games will be crucial when it comes to successfully completing the season. How the situation develops in the coming weeks remains to be seen, but both Gallneukirchen and Schweinbach have clear objectives for the second half of the season.
