Technology for girls: New Erasmus+project started in Steyr

In an exciting Initiative, three educational institutions have launched a joint project that specifically aims to win young women for technical professions. The project is called "Young Women in T.I.M.E." And comprises the HTL Steyr, the vocational schools in Osterholz-Scharmbeck and the Lycée Emile Mathis in Schiltigheim. This partnership is funded as part of the EU program Erasmus+ and is intended to throw a new light on the technical sector, which is often still considered a male thing.

The focus of the project is to break through traditional professional stereotypes. Various activities are planned for this. Among other things, technical workshops are to be developed that are aimed specifically at students. The creation of an advertising cover, which includes interviews with technicians in training, is also part of the project. This shows that technology is exciting and accessible to women and their skills in these professional fields are required.

important steps to cooperate

The official starting sign for the project was given at the end of October when the cooperation agreement between the three schools was signed in Osterholz-Scharmbeck. This marks the beginning of a series of joint activities that are to be carried out in the coming years. The next meeting, which will take place at HTL Steyr from March 18 to 2025, was particularly emphasized. There the previous results of the project are collected and finally presented in Brussels.
