Volunteer fire brigade cleans outdoor pools in the Zwettlbad after flooding

In Zwettl, the volunteer fire brigade recently carried out a remarkable campaign. After the devastating flood damage that searched for the region in autumn 2024, it was time to clean the outdoor pool in the Zwettlbad. This long -awaited cleaning could only take place now after the conditions allowed this.

On November 20 and 21, 2024, six committed fire brigade members faced the challenge of eliminating the mud and dirt from the outer pool for two days. These pools were severely affected by the flood and had suffered from a considerable mud storm. With a total expenditure of over 50 hours, the fire brigade managed to free the pools from the unwanted material. The high groundwater mirror had previously made an effective pumping of the water and the sludge more difficult, so that the fire brigade could only become active.

committed use of the fire brigade

The cooperation between the members of the volunteer fire brigade and the employees of the Zwettlbad was remarkable. It shows how essential the local fire brigade is for the support of the community in crisis situations. During the flood damage, the fire brigade was already required in many other missions to combat the effects of the water.

The cleaning of the outdoor pool is not only a measure to restore the bath, but also a step towards normal for the community. It is gratifying to see how communal commitment bears fruits in times of need and everyone involved works together to restore the quality of life in Zwettl.
