A day trip on the Hundertwasserweg: nature and art in Zwettl

A bright blue sky and the warm sun accompany me on a day trip to the beautiful Waldviertel. I start my hike in Zwettl, not far from the picturesque Bründlkirche. It is the perfect day to explore nature and be grateful for the beauty around me.

The Hundertwasserweg that extends to Roites is my goal. It is an impressive route that gently leads along the Kamp. The water glitters in the sun and is reminiscent of shimmering bronze. In some places there is a look at the huge stones of the river, some of which were completely immersed in the event of floods in September.

The path and its attractions

After about six kilometers I meet a street that I follow a few minutes until I get to the Utissenbachmühle. This mill has a special meaning for me, because here I started two hikes here last season. The first continued along the Kamp to Roites, where the charming house is in which Hundertwasser lived at times.

The second hike that I undertook led through the Weißenbachklamm and to Jahnfelsen. Today, however, I choose a shortcut. I turn around at the junction and go back the same way. You don't have to overdo it, do you? 😅

I originally go a little faster, maybe out of habit. Nevertheless, I stop to stage Papa Schlumpf with my girlfriend Moriyha. I also collected a few blades of luck on the way there, which I now label and attach to my "leaf basket" at the power plant. Maybe someone is happy about it.

After about 16 kilometers and 4 hours and 40 minutes, I return to the parking lot. It fulfills me with pleasure that I can now hike so actively again, even if my feet pain - apparently they are not yet completely fit. 🥰

I invite everyone to accompany myself on my image series and wish everyone nice moments in nature. The hike on the Hundertwasserweg is an experience full of magical views and peaceful silence that justify every step.
