Edelhof celebrates the new opening: 14.7 million euros for the future of agriculture
The Agricultural technical school Edelhof, an important educational institution in the Waldviertel, has undergone a comprehensive renovation and expansion that has taken place in the past three years. The school was officially inaugurated last Friday, a ceremony accompanied by State Councilor Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister. The investment amount for the renovation and the new building amounts to around 14.7 million euros provided by the state of Lower Austria.
The ceremony for the reopening of the school was carried by the motto "Tour through space and time". Contemporary witnesses were invited, which reported on the social development of agricultural education in the Waldviertel. These stories gave the guests interesting insights into the history of the technical school.
modern infrastructure for quality lessons
The new architecture and the contemporary equipment of the school building should sustainably promote the quality of the lesson. "The built-up institutions secure the high level of training level for which the technical school is known," said Teschl-Hofmeister during the celebration. She emphasized that a total of 110 million euros were invested for vocational schools in Lower Austria, including other schools in Gießhübl, Langenlois, Mistelbach, Obersiebenbrunn and Pyhra, where the construction work has already been completed.
After completing the second construction phase, which included the general renovation of the school tract for operating and budget management as well as boarding school and classrooms, regular operation began at the beginning of the school year. Director Michaela Bauer-Windischhofer commented positively about the new equipment and the learning environment, in which the pupils are already visibly comfortable.
influential history of training in the Waldviertel
A special focus was at the ceremony at the anniversary of housekeeping training, which celebrated its 100th birthday last year. Due to the construction work, the anniversary could not be celebrated at the time. Erika Haidvogl, head of department for company and budget management, said that the roots of housekeeping training in the Waldviertel in Göpfritz were located on the game, where the agricultural household school was founded in 1923.
The technical school told itself through various moves: in 1957 it was taken over by the state of Lower Austria, in 1972 she moved to the district farmers' chamber in Zwettl and in 1981 the move to today's Edelhof took place. This long history shows the importance of professional training in the region and the tireless efforts to adapt the training to the needs of time.
In the Agricultural and Vocational School Edelhof, different training directions are offered. This includes the fields of agriculture as well as company and household management with a focus on “rural tourism” and “social services”. The four -year training in the “social care profession in rural areas” is particularly in demand, which reacts to the great demand for nursing staff. There is also horse hook as well as multi -professional training in carpentry and carpentry. In addition, a diverse course program is provided that enables the students to continue their education in various areas.
The renewal of the Edelhof Agricultural School is an important step into the future and is a sign of the important role that educates in the promotion of agricultural and social skills of the next generation.
