New vehicles damaged in Milbertshofen: police are looking for witnesses
Last week there was an unfortunate incident at the Milbertshofen transshipment station that has now attracted the attention of the investigative authorities. On the night of Wednesday to Thursday, more precisely between November 13th and 14th, a total of twelve new vehicles were damaged while being transported on a car transport train.
The affected vehicles include nine VW T7 buses, an Audi Q7 and two VW Polos. The total damage caused by this vandalism is estimated at around 50,000 euros. The unknown perpetrators apparently targeted the vehicles' windshield wipers and partially tore them off. The wind from the car transport train, which was heading towards Ingolstadt early Thursday morning, caused the torn parts to be thrown back and forth, resulting in numerous paint damages on various vehicle parts, particularly on the hoods and side surfaces.
Details about the incident
The damage was discovered on Thursday morning in Rohrbach, in the Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm district. At this point the vehicles were about to be unloaded. What is striking is that the car transport train had no further stops after its departure from Milbertshofen, which means that only the transshipment station in Munich is a possible crime scene. When the wagons were checked when they arrived in Milbertshofen, no complaints were noticed.
The federal police have initiated an investigation due to the damage to property and are now looking for witnesses. Anyone who made suspicious observations on the car transport train at the transshipment station in the specified period from Wednesday, November 13th, 3 a.m. to Thursday, November 14th, 3 a.m. is asked to contact the Munich Federal Police Inspectorate on 089/515550-0. Any information could be important in solving the incident.
The investigation is in full swing as authorities try to find the perpetrators behind this vandalism and make them pay for the damage. Damage to vehicles can not only represent financial losses for the affected companies, but also delay transportation and related obligations.
