First Biathlon State Cup in Lohnsburg: Children and beginners welcome!
LOHNSBURG/HÖHNHART. The anticipation in Lohnsburg is great, because the first biathlon steps on the newly converted roller ski track are imminent. Next Saturday, October 12th, children and students will compete in the Biathlon State Cup from 1 p.m. It is an important event that appeals to several age groups.
"The track has been in great demand in recent weeks and has hosted many national and international teams. We are overjoyed that we can now host our first competition," explains Gerold Sattlecker, chairman of ASVÖ SC Höhnhart. His enthusiasm is contagious and preparations are in full swing.
An event for all ages
The state cup is aimed primarily at children aged 7 to 13, i.e. those born between 2010 and 2017. Even the youngest children are allowed to take part in the Bambini class. "We run on foot and we shoot lying down with air rifles. Newcomers are also welcome to try out our sport. They can start in the guest class," adds Sattlecker.
ASVÖ SC Höhnhart will also be well represented. "We have a motivated young group of biathletes who train regularly on Wednesdays. We are also happy to welcome new faces who would like to come by to get a taster," emphasizes Sattlecker. Anyone interested can register directly with him.
