Helping hands from St. Georgen: Eddie Kroll's use in Kenya
Eddie Kroll broke again in September to far away Majimoto in Kenya, a small village that was supported in the past by the “Schilling für Shilling” association with a school, a drinking water fountain and other important facilities. On his trip, Kroll handed over aid packages to 50 people who were urgently dependent on support. "The emotional conversations that I was allowed to have with people touched me deeply. Their worries and gratitude that was shown to me are indescribable," said Kroll.
The commitment of the association is not only shown by handing over aid packages, but also through the numerous health conversations that took place during his stay. In cooperation with local partners, including Head of Giggs Mwaura and Pastor Emanuel Bongo, Kroll was able to refer many of those affected to the local clinic to receive medical help there.
Eddie’s Allee: A sign of appreciation
A significant part of the visit was the opening of the church's forecourt. A newly created street that was created by a lot of manual work was named "Eddie’s Allee" to appreciate Kroll's commitment. Rita Schaubmair, a retired teacher from St. Georgen an der Gusen, who regularly attended the "Schilling for Shilling" school, was also on site. The school is also facing major changes: new school benches are procured and the classrooms get a fresh coat of paint. In order to further improve medical care, the local clinic is expanded to include a birth station, which is of great importance for the community.
personal commitment and sports activities
Kroll confirmed his personal commitment to the association: "As long as I have the strength, I will continue to collect donations. The help for these people means a lot to me." In addition to the financial support, he also plans to build further projects to increase the visibility of the association.
Another highlight was a football game between the team of "Schilling for Shilling" and an opposing team on the Newly founded football field. After the game, Kroll promised to get football shoes all players and the next time you visit, which is planned for January, bring new jerseys. A small tournament with four teams is also to be organized.
The association "Schilling for Shilling" is financed by various activities, including donations, memberships, school sponsorships and income from charity events. On Saturday, October 19, a hit autumn with the noble lakes will take place on Saturday, October 19th. A benefit concert with Marc Pircher is planned for December 14th in the Forum Luftenberg.
