Morter hunting club inspires 5,000 guests at Pibersteiner See

The Pibersteiner See turned into a true folk festival last Saturday when the marten hunt club Söding invited to its popular "Rehrlsalotechen". Over 5,000 visitors from all over Austria and Germany flocked to this amusing event, which not only captivated through bizarre competitions, but also with a lively atmosphere.

In the early afternoon, numerous guests were already gathered in the parking lot, where many classic cars, tractors and off-road vehicles were found. These were often artistically decorated with marten preparations, which the creative streak of the participants underlined. The mood was relaxed and familiar, so that the feeling of a large community quickly formed.

The organizers Gerhard Schwabler and Wolfi Hatzl had put together a varied program. In addition to the strong audience hype about marten throwing, which caused many laughs, there was an impressive vehicle show and original trophies.

A special highlight was the beer tapping, which was carried out by the mayor of Köflach, Helmut Linhart. This marked the official start of the competition, which was accompanied musically by the Rosentaler Bergkapelle. The award ceremony in the evening awarded awards in different categories, including the "best classic car" and "broadest marten throw".

During the competition there were always warm encounters and happy conversations among the guests who came from different parts of the country. Licenses from Schärding, Linz-Land, Salzburg and even from Bavaria were represented by the visitors.

The atmosphere on Lake Piberstein was simply indescribable and made a decisive contribution to the cult status of this event. The mix of tradition and modern fun was well received by everyone involved, with many guests already announcing their participation in the closest "Rehrlssalotechen". So it remains to be seen which surprises the organizers will plan for next year.
