Traditional Christmas market in Pettenbach: enjoyment and entertainment for young and old
On December 8th, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., a popular Christmas market will take place again in Pettenbach. Over the years, this event has become a real highlight in the region and attracts numerous visitors. Organized by local associations, guests can enjoy an extensive culinary offering, ranging from punch and mulled cider to hearty dishes.
The selection of delicacies is truly impressive. The dishes on offer include chestnuts, potato spirals and meat rolls freshly prepared on the charcoal grill. Visitors can also look forward to traditional dishes such as hare soup, Bosner - also in a vegan version - bratwurst, schnitzel and liver loaf sandwiches and raclette bread. Sweet treats such as farmer's donuts, pancakes, crepes, coffee and cake round off the offering. A special highlight will be the cookie baking competition, where prizes will be awarded for the best cookies.
A highlight for the little ones
The Christmas market is particularly family-friendly with its own craft room for children, which enables the little ones to get creative and make their own gifts. In the afternoon there will be various musical and dance performances on stage. The children can also look forward to the traditional visit from Santa Claus and the exciting Perchten Run. Admission to these events is free, which increases the anticipation of a stress-free family day.
For visitors who would like to learn a little more about the regional products, there is the opportunity to view the Christmas book exhibition on the ground floor of the rectory. For wine connoisseurs, a wine tasting is offered in the cellar. The children's play “Robber Hotzenplotz and the Moon Rocket” will also be performed in the theater.
