Grieskirchner volleyball players shine at the state cup - women and gentlemen Siegen!

Grieskirchen. The volleyball players of the UVB Sportunion Sparkasse Grieskirchen recently had an exciting day at the state cup. Both the women's and the men's team competed for their first games and showed impressive achievements.

The women traveled to the city of Sattledt to compete with the St. Georgen/Gusen team. Due to injuries, the team could not compete from the Mühlviertel region. As a result, the Grieskirchen women rose to a freewheel without much excitement. After a victory of the UVC McDonalds Ried/Innkreis against Sattledt, a derby occurred, which increased the tension. But some regular players were also missing from the Grieskirchner women. Lilly Kwiatkowski, who had moved up from the U 18, made her debut as a Libera and performed the task excellently. The entire game showed the young team of Innviertel a lot of respect for the established Landesliga team and the Grieskirchner were able to prevail with a clear 3-0 victory.

The men's team had a challenging opening game against St. Georgen/Gusen in the Wels Mozart game. Here the Grieskirchen team managed to triumph with a 3-1 win. In the second game, the motivated team from JKU Usi from Linz was waiting. This encounter developed into an exciting thriller in which every team fought for victory. Ultimately, the Grieskirchner were able to prevail with a narrow 3: 2.
