Hidden dangers: police discover weapons and pyrotechnics in Rainbach!
At a police check in the Rainbach district on Saturday afternoon, alarming discoveries were made. In a car with a Czech license plate, which was stopped around 4:50 p.m., the officers found a large number of prohibited pyrotechnic objects and two illegal weapons. According to Volksblatt , the vehicle was occupied by two young men-a 19-year-old and an 18-year-old-both from Leoben. During the search, the police secured a total amount of about four and a half kilograms of explosive materials that were assigned to the categories F2, F3 and F4. The weapons were assigned to a 17-year-old who was not in the car, but was with friends in Freistadt.
But this was not the only incident that day. As early as July 16, 2021, another vehicle was targeted during a similar control, in which four Czech nationals were traveling. During this check in Rainbach, the officials discovered cannabis, a whipping ring and various pyrotechnic objects. As my district reported, the 20-year-old was only able to identify himself in the car with a Czech insurance card, while two other people did not show any proof of identity. During the search of the vehicle, the police found around 1.31 grams of cannabis and two bongs, which also had drug residues. The 22-year-old driver finally refused the drug test, whereupon the driver's license was temporarily withdrawn.
These incidents throw a light on the difficulties associated with border traffic from the Czech Republic, especially with regard to forbidden substances and dangerous objects. The police are faced with the challenge of combating such criminal activities and ensuring the security of citizens.
