Mass accident on B 38: eight vehicles collide!
On January 3, 2025, a dramatic mass carambolage occurred on the B 38 in the Vorderweißenbach, Upper Austria municipal area at around 10:30 a.m. A 75-year-old driver from the Rohrbach district had to brake due to traffic, which triggered a follow-up accident. A 47-year-old driver from the Freistadt district could not react in time in the winter driving conditions and touched the 75-year-old's rear with his vehicle. As a result, this car caught, which resulted in the collision with several other vehicles, including an ambulance that could brake in time.

like fireworld.at reported, a 48-year-old from the Urfahr-Umgebung district raced past the already accidentally incredible vehicles. During her overtaking maneuver, however, she was rammed by a subsequent 49-year-old driver from Lower Austria at her rear. This chain reaction recorded a truck driving on the opposite roadway. Finally, an ambulance was able to stop behind the truck, but a 61-year-old from the Rohrbach district could no longer stop in time and drove onto the vehicle.
A total of eight vehicles and ten people were involved in the accident. According to Krone , five people were injured, with one of which had to be treated and taken to the hospital. The accident illustrates the dangers that can bring winter road conditions with it, especially in the case of unforeseen braking maneuvers.
