Info evening in Freistadt: worries about the Czech nuclear waste end
Freistadt. Span> In the coming week, on Thursday, November 28th, members of the anti-atom committee will invite you to an important information evening entitled "In front of our door". The event takes place at 7 p.m. in the Salzhof and is devoted to the planned nuclear waste end camp, which is to be built near the Czech Republic.
This information evening will also welcome experts from the Czech Republic. The organizers emphasize the urgency of the topic: "The search for a repository is in full swing, and the Czech government is planning a massive expansion of atomic energy. Since radioactivity knows no limits, this inevitably affects our region." Edvard Sequens is again expected as a speaker, together with guests such as Pavel Vlcek and Gabi Reitingerová from the Citizens' Initiative OIžP from Budweis. Gabi Reitingerová will also act as a translator. Entry to this event is free, which should enable the public to participate.
successful past events
In the past, several information evenings on this critical topic took place. The first event for looking for a repository took place in Haslach in September, followed by a successful discussion in Bad Leonfelden in October. At these meetings, Dalibor Stráský, anti-nuclear representative of the state of Upper Austria, as well as representatives of Czech NGOs such as Jihoceské Matky and Calla, informed about the views of the Czech population on nuclear power and the ongoing efforts to search for a repository.
The event in Rainbach was also well attended and caused a lot of interest. Here, among other things, the internationally recognized climate researcher Helga Kromp-Kolb and Wolfgang Löser, an energy-neutral farmer, spoke about the challenges and possibilities in the context of energy generation and climate change.
The next information evening should now again focus on the upcoming challenges in an informative exchange that are connected to the nuclear complex and the disposal of nuclear waste. The reporting on these and similar topics is continuously updated, as reported on www.tips.at .
