35 years of software park Hagenberg: a center for innovation and education
The Hagenberg software park, which was a center for innovation and economic development in Upper Austria for over 35 years, celebrates an important milestone. The idea behind the software park, which was founded in 1989, was to combine research, training and entrepreneurship at a central location. The initiator, Bruno Buchberger, introduced Hagenberg as a magnet for IT expertise and economic development, a vision that has now been manifested in the form of eleven research institutions and 26 training programs. The software park has now located over 75 companies.

He thinks that the planned place in Linz is not possible for various reasons, Hagenberg offers many opportunities for meaningful cooperation thanks to the existing universities of applied sciences. The mayor of Hagenberg, David Bergsmann, made it clear that the municipality continuously invests in the infrastructure and that there is sufficient space for the new IT university.
