A serious traffic accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon, December 17th, on the B129 Eferdinger Straße in Alkoven, which led to a dramatic scenario. The 53-year-old driver from the Eferding district lost control of her vehicle and came across the center line, where she initially roamed an oncoming car from a 44-year-old man from the district of Grieskirchen before colliding head-on with the vehicle of a 39-year-old woman from Linz-Land. This frontal collision meant that both cars were significantly damaged, one of the vehicles was even thrown into an embankment, as reported.
In this tragic incident, the 53-year-old was seriously injured and had to be recovered from her totally damaged car with the support of the emergency medical helicopter "Christophorus 10". She was then admitted to the Kepler University Hospital after it was medical care on site. The 39-year-old driver was able to leave her vehicle independently, but was also taken to the hospital for an examination. The 44-year-old driver was lucky, who was unharmed. Due to the severity of the accident, three fire departments were alerted to rescue people. During the rescue work, nobody was trapped or seriously injured, which defused the situation. The burden of the rescue workers was considerable, but the quick reaction saved further potential injuries from worse.
