Maria Schmolln practices for an emergency: realistic blackout scenarios

In Maria Schmolln, a realistic exercise to prepare for a possible blackout was recently held. Organized by the volunteer fire brigade, this event was carried out together with the municipality to prepare the emergency services and the civilian population for a long -term power failure.

The special thing about this exercise was the integration of the stage fright. The actors slipped into the roles of affected citizens to simulate different scenarios. These performances helped realistically present the reactions and challenges in the first five days of a power failure.

diverse scenarios

A number of different scenarios were played through within three hours. The forces involved worked on both the official and the technical aspects of crisis management. The aim of this exercise was to optimize the processes and communication between the various operational organizations.

The realistic representations by the actors from the theater club contributed significantly to the authenticity of the exercise. From the first excitement among the citizens to the following reactions, a wide range was covered, which gave the emergency services valuable insights.

The joint implementation of this exercise illustrates the importance of cooperation between different local organizations in order to be well prepared for emergencies. Such initiatives are an important part of disaster prevention and coping with the region.
