HTL Braunau: Elbe title than the most innovative school in Upper Austria!
Braunau. The HTL Braunau has secured the title of the most innovative school in Upper Austria for the eleventh time in a row. This prestigious award was awarded as part of the "Youth innovative" competition. The school's continuous success is due to the impressive number of projects submitted.
This year, 26 diploma theses from the school year 2023/24 were awarded the Eco or Digi bonus. This is a new record for the HTL. A total of 7,800 euros were awarded in order to honor the outstanding services of the students.
impressive projects in the Bionik area
The three projects from the Bionik area that made it to the federal final are particularly remarkable. All three were awarded a recognition price of 750 euros. One of these innovative projects is a forearm prosthesis that is controlled via brain activities and can thus carry out complex commands. This project was realized by Julian Gerstlohner and Fabian Schratz.
In addition, Anna Simonsen and Samantha Wanderer have developed a symbiotic combination of bacteria and fungi that is able to dismantle plastic. Robert Palmer and Jan Reischl, on the other hand, focused on the sustainable production of boards made of wood fibers.
for the benefit of the environment
Many of the excellent diploma theses have dealt with pressing challenges of our time, such as climate change. Gerda Schneeberger, the director of the HTL, was proud of the achievements of her students: "Her tireless efforts and the variety of innovations have made it possible to win this title for the eleventh time. It is a great joy to see how our work is bearing fruit."
